Engagement Announced Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kimball, of Gusher, announce the forthcoming forthcom-ing marriage of their daughter, Donna Rose, to Sherman Anderson, Ander-son, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson, of Bluebell. Bridge Luncheon At Orser Home Adding interest to the social atmosphere in Roosevelt this week were Mrs. Lynn Orser and Mrs. Axel Birch when they entertained en-tertained with a delightful dessert des-sert luncheon at the Orser residence resi-dence Monday evening. Bouquets of colorful fall flowers lent their charm to the rooms where small tables were arranged with covers laid for twenty-four guests including Mrs. Paul Murphy, Mrs. Sam Weiss, Mrs. Fred Ferron, Mrs. Ted Tussler, Mrs. Gordon Harm-ston, Harm-ston, Mrs. Robert Huish, Mrs. Les Mullins, Mrs. Frank Chamberlain, Cham-berlain, Mrs. John Bourne, Mrs. C. L. Ashton, Mrs, Homer P. Edwards, Ed-wards, Mrs. Louis Corbridge, Mrs. Wm. H. Ruppel, Mrs. Vean Bair, Mrs. Bennic Schmiett, Mrs. C. L. Fretwcll, Mrs. Jack McLea, Mrs. Paul Wilkins, Mrs. Eugene Harmston, Mrs. Howard Harri-i son, Mrs. R. Q. Warnock and Mrs Wayne Malin. Following luncheon six tables! of bridge were at play during the I evening I Announces Engagement Mr. and Mrs. Albert Semken, of Gusher, announce the engagement engage-ment and forthcoming marriage of their grandaughter, Miss Frances Fran-ces Maurene Nebeker, to Sgt. Thomas S Bullock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Bullock, of Provo. The marriage will take place eraly in September, upon Sgt. Bullock's relaese from the Army. They plan to make their home in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Hopkins and son, of Santa Anna California, Calif-ornia, and Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Jones, of Iowa City, Iowa, have been visiting for the past ten days at the home of Mrs. Hopkins' Hop-kins' and Mrs. Jones' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wiscombe. Mr. Jones, who was principal of the Altamont high school until two years ago, is now working I towards his Ph.D. at Iowa State University. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Colling-ham, Colling-ham, of Pasadena, California, returned to their home Monday after visiting during the week of Indian Days with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Collingham. Miss Fay Apostol of Bingham, is a guest this week at the home of her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Laris. ; I, Mrs. Chris Axelgard, of Price, was a guest during Indian Days at the home of her sister, Mrs. Louis Laris, and at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Abplanalp. Miss Marilyn Whitmore left Wednesday, for Denver where she expects to make her home for the present.. Fretw ell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Fretwell. Mrs. 0n Perryman,:of Texas, has recently joined her husband in Roosevelt where they have bought the property across from the Ballard school. Mr. Perry-man Perry-man has been working in the vicinity of Roosevelt for several months, a member of the Wind 'River Drilling Company. Carl Burgess and son, Billy,! former residents of Roosevelt, are visiting with relatives here. Carl has been attending the University Uni-versity of Utah since being re-I re-I leased from the Army. . Mr. and Mrs. Arthur N. Smith Viave returned to make their home in Roosevelt after having resided in Nevada during the past four yeara. Jackie Burgess left August 22 for Clayton, New Mexico where he will visit for ten days at the home of his aunt, Mrs Clarence Redmond. Approximately twenty Ballard Bal-lard M Men and Gleanor Girls spent last Sunday evening at the Russell Todd residence. After a song fest and general discussion, light refreshments were served by Fanny Todd. Arthur Wiscombe Jr. left Saturday Sat-urday to enter Brigham Young University at Proyo on a scholarship scholar-ship which he won last year while attending Alterra high school. Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Rudy, of Orem, former Roosevelt residents, resi-dents, visited with friends and relatives here Friday while attending at-tending Utah Indian Days. They were accompanied by their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Larsen, of San Francisco. Fran-cisco. Thomas E. Hall, of Vernal, was transacting business in Roosevelt Ro-osevelt Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bowden are visiting in Star Valley with Mrs. Bowden's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bassett. Mrs. Alvin Coombs and four sons, of Fountain Green, Utah, spent the past weekend in Roose-velt Roose-velt visiting friends. While here they were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gleaton. Word has been received that Dale Barker, son of Calvin L. i Barker of Bridgeland, has been transferred from the Pacific Theater and is now stationed with the occupation forces in Bremerhaven, Germany. Mrs. Elmo Nelson, daughter, Mareen, and sons, Miles and Paul, returned to their home in Bingham Sunday. They have been visiting with Mrs. Nelson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Homer P. Edwards. William H. Edwards accompanied them to Bingham. Mrs. Mary Bowden, of Alton-ah, Alton-ah, returned Sunday from a ten day trip to Randolph, Utah, where she visited her. daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Liza Nichols |
