Show Myton City News Section 60th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Todd celebrated cele-brated their sixtieth wedding anniversary Sunday at their home. Amanda Bcbush Todd was born, October 3, 1863, St. Louis Missouri. Albert Mcleond Todd, was born. November, 30, 1863, Illinois. They met in Colorado. August 5, 1885 and were married at Evans, Colorado. Mr. Todd came when the reservation was opened for the whites. The Todd family followed in a year, Mr. Todd was an engineer, and also assisted C. B. Cook at the My ton free Press. "They had four children, Mrs. Myer Philips of New York; Fred Todd and Miss Alice Todd survive; sur-vive; six grandchildren and three great grandsons and one great granddaughter. Dinner was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Todd. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Sims and family ,Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Adarquist of Twin Falls, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ferron, of Roosevelt. Mrs. Laurence Sorenson, of Pheniox, Arizona, Mrs. Myron Roberts, Mrs. Jane Brain, of Vernal; Mrs. H. Merkley, of Jensen; and Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCurdy, of Kenilworth, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Emery Nielson Tuesday. They were aunts and an uncle of Mrs. Nielson, Niel-son, Mrs. Merkley is a cousin. Mrs. Rose Sirccch and two daughters, Sarah Jane and Louise Lou-ise of Randlctt are visiting Mrs. Sirccch daughter, Mrs. Sophia Jones, enroute to visit another daughter in Reno. Nevada. Mrs. Maude Hycke, of Trenton Ontario, Canada, is enjoying a visit with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr- and Mrs. Wm. Jennings Jen-nings and family. Mrs, Rex Lloyd of California, was visiting her sister, Mrs. Calvin Cal-vin Barker last week. Mrs. Katherine Nielson and two children left Saturday with Bob Conway for California, where she will find employment. Mrs. Nielson has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hammerschmit of Bluebell and Mrs. Carrie Parker. Mrs. Ole reterson went to Ogden Wednesday to the funeral of an uncle, Isac Morris. New Arrival Mr. and Mrs. Wilnier Murray-are Murray-are the proud parents of a baby boy, born Wednesday, August 7, at the Roosevelt hospital. S-Sgt. and Mrs. R. L. Christen-sen Christen-sen of Ogden, were visiting Saturday at the home of Mrs. Christensen, sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Stan Nebc-ker. Nebc-ker. 4H-Club Mrs. Clarence Lydell and Mrs. Wm. Harris went with the following fol-lowing 4-H club girls to Uintah canyon Tuesday. Arbra and Joan Gingell, Reva Perry, LaRue Lydell, Coleen Curtis, Mary Lee Mortensen, Margaret Mary Harris and LaRue Linch. Barbara Bar-bara Mortensen of Monroe was a guest. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Peatross of Salt Lake City went home Wednesday. They have been visiting Mrs. Peatross and Mr. i and Mrs. Wm. Peatross. Sunday Dinner I Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Preece, entertained the following at a dinner Sunday: Miss Dora Mathews, of Roosevelt, Miss Gladys and Josephine Hunt and Fred S. Musser. Sunday Dinner Mr. and Mrs. N. L. Peterson, gave a dinner in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Peterson of Long Beach, and Mrs. Martha O. Peterson. New Arrival Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Pcctol are the proud parents of a baby boy, born August 11, at the Roosevelt hospital. Bridge Luncheon Mrs. Howard Davenport entertained enter-tained the bridge club last Friday Fri-day at her home. The following were present: Mrs. Lee Cooper, Mrs, Bliss Lott. Miss Alice Todd, Mrs. Wm. Koehler, Mrs. Wm. Preece, Mrs. E. W. Kronquist, of Ft. Duchesne, Mrs. James Dalgleish, Dal-gleish, Mrs. Homer Robinson, Miss Nina Chenny of Los Angeles, Mrs. Wm. Harris and Mrs. Alma Burdick. Roland Krebs, District Commander Com-mander and Grace Dalgleish, District President went to Duchesne Du-chesne Monday night to install the unit and Post officers. Mrs. Merrill Colton and son went to Salt Lake City Friday where she will meet her husband, hus-band, Pfc. Merrill Colton. Merrill Mer-rill has been overseas for two years. He is getting an honorable discharge. Legion and Auxiliary Meet The American Legion and Auxiliary of Wm. Sands post Unit 5 entertained at the mine in honor of Roland Krebs, District Dist-rict Commander, and Mrs. Grace Dalgleish, District President. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Harve Portridgc, Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Anderle, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Harris, Mr. and Mrs. Demp-scl Demp-scl Hemphill, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Smith, Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish, Mr. and Mrs, Marion Mott, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Tanner, Tan-ner, Miss Alice Todd, Mrs. Lional Babcock, Roland Krebs, Mrs. Oscar Adams, Mrs. Carrie Parker and Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Wal-lace Dennis. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Peterson and two children of Long Beach, California, left Monday for home. They have been enjoying a visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. L. Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hancock. I Mrs. Chicdon Bucklow and baby of Salt Lake City, came Friday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Harris. Mrs. Molly Logan of Echo, came Saturday to visit her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Phelix Quanintana. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Harrison and Pvt. Orlan Harrison, of Vernal were visiting over the week end at the home of Mrs. Harrison's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Smith. Lavon Black of Louell, Wyoming, Wyom-ing, Mrs. J. B. Blankenship and J. W. Blankenship, of Vernal, were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Koehler Friday. Mrs Caroline Trininman of Salt Lake City came Sunday to visit her sister, Mrs. Nephi Porritt, Mrs. Lehi Porritt and Mrs. Earl Babcock. Mrs. Stella Johnson and son of Ogden came Monday to visit her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.. Stanley Nebeker. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Jensen of Salt Lake City came Friday to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Cooper, and Wm. Jensen and relatives. Austin Cope was visiting Mr. and Mrs. Afton Richens this week end, Austin has been transferred trans-ferred to Ft. Douglas from San Francisco. Mrs. Clyde Bingham returned home Wednesday from Montery, California. Mrs. Bingham has been visiting Clyde. Mrs. Ruben Snyder and two daughters, lone and Laurel went to Salt Lake City Friday to visit Miss June Anna Snyder who is employed in Salt Lake City. Miss Delphia Collins was visiting visit-ing at the Harris home over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Tanner of Salt Lake City were visiting Mr. Tanner's mother, Mrs. Emma Tanner over the week. Mrs. Martha O. Peterson went to her home in Salt Lake City Monday Mrs. Peterson has been with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. N. L. Peterson for two months. Mrs. Lila Coombs and daughter, daugh-ter, Doreen were visiting over the week end with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Crapo. Mrs. Doreen Fenn and son of Provo, were visiting Mrs. Vern Muse Monday. Miss Helen Cox went to Tooele, Thursday to visit her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Veil Herbert. Miss Nina Chenncy of Los Angeles, left for her home Monday. Mon-day. She has been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Howard Davenport for a month. John L. Johnson went to Ogden Og-den Monday to visit his brother. Mr. and Mrs. L. F. McAllister and daughters, Mary Jane and Mrs. F. J. Clark and son, Tommy of Salt Lake City are guests of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Uresk. Robert Wells of Rangley, was a week end guest of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Harris. Rudy Krissman and Roland Krebs made a business trip to Heber, Monday. |
