Show H. Jenkins Cd. Murphy CITED FOR GALLANTRY Tech. 5th grade, Henry L. Jenkins, Jen-kins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Jenkins of Bluebell, was inducted induct-ed in the service in April, 1940. He was placed in the medical corp and first reported to Ta-coma, Ta-coma, Wash. Following Dec. 7 after Pearl Harbor, he was stationed stat-ioned at Hawaii for one year. Henry was then sent to Guadalcanal Guadal-canal in the Georgia Islands. He is in a rest camp at the present time. A brother, Joseph Jenkins, also in the service, is stationed in Florida. The following letter was received re-ceived by Mr. and Mrs. Samuel H. Jenkins from the U S Army Forces in the South Pacific area: "It is great pleasure to inform you of the award of a Silver Star to your son, Technician Fifth Grade Henry L. Jenkins, for gallantry in action while engaged en-gaged in operations against the enemy in the Theater. The citation briefly describing describ-ing your son's accomplishment, of which I know you are justly proud, is published in General Orders No. 482, dated December 12, 1943, this Headquarters, a copy which is enclosed."
