Show 4 Roosevelt Elementary "Back The Attack" The Roosevelt Elementary School Tops Their Bond Drive Quota by $709.10 The Roosevelt Elementary school topped their goal for the Fourth War Bond Drive by $709.10. This was set at $2500 00 and their total sales were $3209.-10. $3209.-10. This was about twice the a-mount a-mount sold by the school last year, which was $1615.25. The school was divided into two sections, lower floor (grades 4th to 7th). The grades on each floor competed with each other. The results were as follows: Grade Amount 6th., Mrs Nyeberg $517.60 5th, Mrs. Mathews 515.25 7th, Mr. Wilde 417.80 6th, Mrs. Winterton 289.95 4th, Miss Thomas 100.95 4&5th, Miss Emert 77.75 3rd, Mrs. Roberts $374.95 1st, Mrs. Leavitt 285.83 2nd, Mrs. Anderton 206.20 2nd, Miss Fletcher 168.95 1st, Mrs. Murphy. 166.30 3rd, Mrs. Walker 87.57 Miss Thomas made a large chart with the maps of Germany and Japan. On the chart was printed the slogan: "Let's Black Out Germany and Japan." Each time a hundred dollars worth of stamps or bonds were sold a section sec-tion of the chart was , blacked 'jofc.t. tf'". WTldeV 7lh grade gave stamps instead of Valentines this year. A number of unfilled stamp books were converted into in-to bonds. Ninety-three per cent of all the teachers, including the substitute teachers, purchased bonds. Gen. Chairman, Principal Wilde, and Sec. and Treasurer, Blanche Murphy. All the teachers and students worked hard to make this drive a success. |
