Show F S A to Make Loans in County Earnest M, Morrison, County Supervisor for the Farm Security Secur-ity Administration, said today his office would make about twenty food production loans in Duchesne County this year. Just before its Christmas recess re-cess Congress voted FSA an additional ad-ditional $7,500,000 in loan funds, Duchesne County's share of this will be about $11,250, or enough to make about twenty food production pro-duction loans, Mr. Morrison said thr Admin istration had recommended that FSA's loaning authority be increased in-creased by $37,500,00, or enough to make about 100 such loans in this county which would be little lit-tle more than enough to supply the credit needs of present FSA borrowers. "Last year our loan funds were exhausted by April," Mr. Morrison said. "This year we will probably run out of money before that time. Applications for credit assistance are coming i in now indicating that the small farmers we serve intend to make larger food production increases than ever before." With our total loan authority for this year almost one-third less than it was last year, it seems certain that FSA would not have sufficient funds to meet the demands for loan3 in Duchesne Du-chesne County. |
