Show IVIarjorie Gardner Weds A. Harrison Adding interest to nuptial news this week is the announcement announce-ment of the wedding- of Miss Marjorie Gardner, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Lagrand Gardner, Gard-ner, Neola. and Allen R. Harrison, Harri-son, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion A. Harrison, also of Neola. Rites were solemnized Friday, September Sep-tember 16 at 3:00 p. m. in the Salt Lake LDS temple, with Robert Rob-ert J. Burton officiating. Miss Gardner 'graduated froro ltooseyelt high achgejj in thw spring of 1948 and enrolled at B. righam Young University the following fall. Mr. Harrison, a graduate of A!-terra A!-terra high school, is a veteran of World War II, and attended tin BYU for a year and a half. Immediately following- the ceremony the new Mr. and Mrs. Harrison left on a wedding trip to California and Mexico. They will greet friends at a reception on September 24 at the home of the bride's parents in Neola, joyed by Miss Donna Rae Labrum, La-brum, Mrs. Evan Olsen, Mrs. Norman Clark, Miss Colleen Alexander pnd Mrs. Duane Hacking. A special feature of the evening eve-ning was the presentation of a lovely corsage to Hie bride-to-be. ALTRUS A meeting at the heme of Mrs. R. V. Larson, Thursday evening, Sept. 15, marked the opening of the current season for the Al-trus Al-trus club. Mrs. Vcre Johnson was co-hostcss. Mrs. Earl Dillman, conducted the business portion of the meeting meet-ing and submitted her resignation' resigna-tion' as president. Mrs. Axel Birch was elected by club members mem-bers to fill the vacancy. Mrs. Vere Johnson presented the lesson, featuring children's phonograph records and book? Present were Mrs. Earl Dili-man, Dili-man, Mrs. Axel Birch, Mrs. Ther-on Ther-on Leavitt, Mrs. Lester Swain, Mrs. Paul Nelson, Mrs. John Swenson, Mrs. Van' Winterton, Mrs. Axel Anderson, Mrs, Don Johnson, Mrs. George Stewart, and Mrs. Ralph Shields. Mr. Melvin Peterson. Mrs. Jay Pond and Mrs. Lawrell Jensen attended attend-ed as club guests. |
