Bacon made a Jaunt to St. George on May 7 to confer with businessmen and Chamber of Commerce officials there to determine just what steps they had taken to secure establishment of a small manufacturing plant in that community A meeting was held on September 7 with leaders of other incorporated towns in Duchesne representatives of organized Irrigation the Ute Tribe and Duchesne County to discuss the feasibility of hiring an executive secretary or area coordinator whose duty it will be to promote development of the entire Duchesne County and Western Uintah County To sufficient financial support has not been forthcoming to put this project into operation it is the belief of Chamber of Commerce officials that the services of such a man are essential if the area is to grow and develop to its full potential in the shortest possible time The road under f chairmanship of Cliff has had a particularly successful Mr made I a trip to D C in i August helped de fray his and while there conferred with the Bu reau of Indian mem bers of our Congressional delegation and Forest Service officials with regard to the Uinta Canyon Moon Lake road and other road work in this A telegram from Senator Wallace F.
