Show Miss Christensen reigns as Uintah Basin Sweetheart The Gymnasium Saturday evening was transformed into the setting for an enchanted evening for the annual Sweetheart Ball of the Uintah Basin EVERYWHERE THERE was evidence to substantiate lovely girls in pretty dresses and their escorts in dress Bach school of the Basin was represented in come phase of the activity for the evening Manila's representative was Mistress of Ceremonies and hostess for the tea preceding the Uintah's Student body officers supervised the serving and seating at the Union High S hool delighted dancers with a lovely floor show and Altamont students saw to it that their was decorated in style Duchesne and Tabiona were for tickets and numerous which helped to make the evening a highlight OF thi evening was the crowning of the 1962 Basin Six judges representing each Basin school sat on the panel which decided this year's award should be presented to a very poised and personable Elaine Christensen the Sweetheart candidate from Altamont Elaine is the daughter of ind Miles H of and a Junior at Altamont High She is active in school affairs and as a talent displayed four oil paintings of her own COMPETING WITH Miss Christensen for the Sweetheart Crown were Deone Brown of Carol Brown of Union Janeal Tom Tabiona and Shirley Ann Wright of Presenting the crown to years Queen was Miss Gayle 1961 who represented Union High School S i i BASIN SWEETHEART Altamont School's que t Miss Elaine was crowned Uintah Sweetheart at the annual ball held Altamont Saturday |
