Show THIS WEEK'S j It isn't a bit too soon to prepare your Thanksgiving In fact puddings and Christmas cakes make very welcome gifts for The following steamed carrot pudding is delicious and was given by Mary Lois Hayes from her Foods for Holidays booklet STEAMED CARROT PUDDING 1 cup sifted flour 1 baking powder il salt nutmeg ii cloves cup sugar 3 well beaten cup brandy or fruit juice 2 candied orange peel finely chopped 2 candied lemon peel finely chopped 1 cup grated raw firmly packed 1 cup chopped or ground suet 2 cups raisins some left Mix and sift spices and Add fruits and stir until they are well Add carrots and then stir in eggs and brandy and until ingredients are well Turn into oiled 2 quart cover and steam 5 to 6 Serve hot with hard |
