Show f My ton Stages Splendid Fourth Celebration Big Features Early Morning Program Sponsored By L Association The Fourth of July celebration at My ton was greatly enjoyed by the large crowd The exercises began at 11 a. m. with a parade which assembled at the L. L. S. led by Max color bearer who preceded the posture Eva Helen Clark was drummer and Betty Giles drum The first float decorated in white was occupied by Miss representing the goddess of liberty and her attendants Isabella Wall and Mae and Arlene Neilson and attendants Louise Hansen and Iona Miss Neilson represented Miss the second float was occupied by June Anna Snyder as Miss My ton with Reva Perry and Ada Parrish attendants This was followed by the of an ancient horse drawn carriage with Grant Brough as coachman and Marilyn Meranda and Claud Neb-I eker as Martha and George Then came the large float with the primary children and Phebe A group of girls riding bicy cles decorated in white and followed by another group of boys and girls riding horses j completed the parade The line of march proceeded south lp east two south one west two blocks and back to Main at then west five blocks and doubled back-to the chapel where the following patriotic program was presented to a packed Congregation Columbia the Gem of the i Bishop Loyal salute to the flag led oy i Celia America the Beautiful by Primary officers and stump Keith at This vocal Bless Jean Thora saxophone Clane original Chester America by the Picnic lunch was enjoyed at the I I I spacious lawn at the government The afternoon was chiefly occupied by a calf steer horse racing and riding bucking A ball game between the fat ladies and thin and a children's dance completed the day's I I The celebration was sponsored by the primary E C Wall and Mrs Lyman Parrish general Melvin Sweat and Lydia refreshments and Miss LaVora Murray and Miss Arlene Neilson parade and Mrs Celia Richens and Prudence program and Melvin Sweat and Afton radio |
