Show Basin Committee Formed to Support River Compact County Leaders Unite to Seek Protection of Colorado River Rights Uintah and Duchesne counties have organized as a unit in the Upper Colorado Basin State organization to support the provisions of the Colorado river At the instigation of Don B. Colton of Salt Lake City and Perry W. Jenkins of a meeting was conducted last Thursday evening in Vernal at which they represented the interests of Utah and Wyoming Jenkins called attention to the provisions of the compact that upper basin states were to allow acre feet of water to pass Lees Ferry but expressed doubt that the river carried that much He questioned whether there was a proportionate allocation of funds to the basin He said Wyoming recommended that an advisory board of two members from each state be formed to contact the secretary of the interior relative to the interests of the states He also suggested that a meeting be called at Grand Junction this winter consisting of four representatives from each of the upper basin Committee Named The following committeemen were named to represent the Uintah Basin in the Uintah Leon P.
