Show Soil Conservation Board Begins Work On Basin Program Request Made to Soil Service For Technical Assistance The first meeting of the board of supervisors for the newly organized Uintah Basin Soil Conservation district was held here last Thursday The board consisting of John H. Cook and Chester appointed and Lynn Leon P. Christensen and Davis elected named and C. P. representing Graham S. state briefly outlined the duties and responsibilities of the board of supervisors and pointed out the scope of district activities in dealing with land use and conservation problems existing in the Starr emphasized the necessity of cooperation between the the district and the various state and federal agencies in effecting the district Representatives Present At the request of the board of local representatives of various federal and state were present to become better to discuss the general aspects of the district and to determine in a general way the possibilities of the district securing cooperative assistance from the various Representatives of agencies present were C. C. Wright and C. S. Schafer of the Indian A. L. supervisor of Ashley National Clair Hopkins and E. C. Morrison of the F. S. George Mathis and Calvin Croft of the Grazing and C. P. D. B. Beach and Harry Woodward of the Soil Conservation Request A portion of the business transacted included a formal request to the Soil Conservation service for technical assistance to help with the gathering of data and writing of the program for acre The next meeting of the board was set for December |
