Wish you would quit worrying, I am OK, but it is hard to write often here, havent .. any lights to speak Of. I made one out of a German canteen' with gas and an old sock, but it is not much good. I want you to thank the people of Randolph for the Bond, and all the letters and cards I have received from them since I entered the army. I guess you got my last letter if you didnt, I have been with my old outfit for about a month, so tell everyone that writes to me to use my old address. to the hospital to see I, went-bacMiss Shaw. She was surprised to see me. I think She would like to get home as much as I would. She really is a swell nurse and doing some wonderful work over here. There is about a foot of snow here now. Kind of cold, about like the climate home this month. I had a pretty good Christmas. Had all the candy and turkey I could eat. I received all your pack ages. Thanks for everything. Right now we are on one hill and the JerryS on the next. All we do is watch each other all day.. New Years night they serenaded us over a speaker. They played popular American music, at twelve shot a lot of fireworks and told us good k night. I have visited Naples, Rome, Florence and a lot of small cities since I came here. I like the city of Rome best..- - . . I havent been able to see Clyde or Eugene Kennedy yet. Might get a chance to see Clyde if. I had his address. I received a letter from Eugene. Wish you could have been: around tonight, your son was in the spotlight we had a football game, an army and navy game, and the army won. During the half, the band marched out, then made a clock. Twelve men came out with numbers, four men made the big hand, 3 men made the small hand, then as they go around the clock at 12 oclock, old man time , Walks across the field. Then me and my jeep come out on the. field with a kid who had a diaper on,. and was 945, and I drive across the field with him in the jeep. . . The band .marches down the field and we cross f'e field and come 'in again, with old man time with us in the jeep. As I came across the field this time, I had one minute to go yards.
