The announcement indicates the farmer will not be a victim of a drop in prices similar to that which followed the last war in 1921 when prices hit the low of 115 per cent of the May, 1920, level which was 235 per cent of the level. Thus the farmer will have more money than after the last war. War Finance Committee officials said that in addition to the maintenance of ;the price level for two years, that families already have, and are accumulating, weekly savings through the Payroll Savings Plan of the War Finance Division of the Treasury.
