Show advisory board of promontory grazing district reorganizes at the recent meeting of the advisory board of the promontory grazing district held at brigham city on feb 18 and 19 lahe the board was reorganize with mr leo mckinnon of randolph being elected general chairman la lawrence lawence r 13 johnson of randolph vice chairman leroy P bohngren Hohn gren of bear river city secretary and treasurer treasured john hadfield of grouse creek chairman sheep section and newell of grouse creek chairman of cattle section the election was held under the direction of district grazier dewane F EJ ebenson jenson enson regional grazier charles F moore of salt lake city was in attendance and gave a report to the advisory board on policies established by the national advisory council which was recently held in salt lake city considerable discussion was held of policies advocated by the national advisory council other problems discussed during the today to two day session of the promontory district advisory board were anticipated range improvement program throughout the district such as repair and maintenance to reservoirs which have previously been constructed spring de velpo ments re seeding of range lands drift construction road and kraii trail maintenance and rodent control these improvements and practices all aiming at better distribution of range livestock on public lands and better management ot of these lands the question of state land blocking and individual exchange of lands was also ds discussed cussed by the advisory board some individual applications for far grazing privileges were presented to the board lor for their consideration and recommendation these application are given consideration by the advisor advisory y board in accordance with provisions of at the federal range code and taylor grazing act where the applicants base land holdings and priority claims of federal range use have proven adequate recommendations have been made tor for issuance of 10 years term permits with the recommendations during this meeting it is esti estimated estimate mat ad that at least 70 of the qualified users in the promontory grazing district will be on a 10 year term basis the appeal meeting at wh which sch applicants for federal range use may present their individual problems to the advisory board for further consideration alo will be held in brigham city on march 3 and 4 |
