The most beautiful girl to be known as the Box Elder Peach will act as the queen of the festival, and her ladies in waiting, who with the queen will greet the visitors and serve them the frnt. Band concerts, free fruit distribution and luncheon will follow the parade, after which a new combination of running horse races, rodeo broncho-ridinsteer riding and similar stunts, interspersed with dancing girls and other vaudeville acts, including unny clowns and relaying bands, is planned to keep the croVvds entertained every moment of the afternoon. In th early evening of the first day of the celebration, a pageant depicting the romantic evolution of the peach will be presented at the footba field on the Box Eider High School Campus. This beautifully sodden green field, with its bordering shrubbery and enclosim fence, will be an ideal setting for the scenes and dances which will make up the spectacle. The pageant is being sponsored by the Box Elder Stake Y. L. M. I. A. and Y M M I A under the supervision of the Recreaton committee of those two organizations. The romantic story of the evolution of the peach wasjwritten in verse by Mrs. Able S. Rich, and tse closing Peach chorus was written by Mrs. C. H. Skidmore, both residents of Brigham. The story will be read into microphones and afpliiled by a public address system, so that everyone present may hear ; and the presentation of the last part of the pageant, at dusk, will be more fantastic by the addition, of a background of colorful flares, rockets and The first scene will depict the oriental splendor of a Chinese court with its emporer and empress, ladies in wait ing and dancing girls ; and the dauntless adventurer and explorer, Marco Polo, receiviin from the ruler of China the first peaches to bge brought to the Occident. A solo dance and a Chinese group dance will make up the scene. Part two will present to the audience the arrival of the still undeveloped poach in Amerca with the first austere colonial settlers; and as the scene there will be a dance of Peach stones. loveliFollowing this, the fairy-lik- e ness of the flowering peach trees in the valleys of Utah, and the development of the luscious peach wll be then brought to life n a dance by a group of M I A girls. The climax will be reached as alarge well rounded, beautifully colored peach appears and bursts open as the Peach Queen makes her bow. A dance of her attendants before background of highly colored flares and. the singing of the Song of the Peach Festival by the entire cast, and then joined by the entire audience, will close the perform ance. This will be a free attraction and should bring many to the campus. Rehearsals of the pageant are now, and the committee in charge promises a spectacle of unsurpassed beauty and interest.
