Oliver Wahlstrom on Thursday afternoon, and held a bundle shower in honor of her daughter, Mis. Edna Earley, a recent bride. Many beautiful and useful gifts were received and refreshments served. The afternoon was spent with games, music and social chat Louis Reed left last week for Idaho where he will indulge in picking up potatoes for a while. The deer hunting season brought to our midst the following parties who were at- - one time residents of our town. John K. Moffat, of Woods Cross, Willard Lamborn of Logan, Geo. E. Lamborn and Jos. R. Weston, of Salt Lake City. Five more deer , were the spoils of this hunt and the butcher bills for' the next 10 days will be lower. ' Last Monday Amos B. Robinson slipped quietly away, also on a "dear hunt and did not return until Saturday night. He was fortunate enough to win, as he brought his dear with him. They were manied in the Salt Lake Temple Wednesday. Amos is the young son of Bishop and Mrs. Geo. H. Robinson and the bride was Miss Mildred Hyde of Salt Lake City. We wish the young couple congratulations and much joy. They will make their home here for the present. . Yes, and say some more are sparkling tool No? girls, fingers - - ARMISTICE DAY! THE AWAKENING When Vilma Banky, star of The Awakening, the Samuel Goldyn picture which comes to the Kozy Theatre on Saturday, first came to the United States three years ago, her English was of the same dubious variety as that of other imported foreign stars. She attributes her improvement in the language of the land of her adoption to steady reading. And no five foot? shelf of books or public library reading list has served her She finds that current peri- purpose. odicals and modern novels vibich are written in the exact Idiom she hears spoken around her are the best for teaching her what such mysterious Sos , your old man, phrases as: And How! really mean. Consequently her list of favorite American books cannot be accused of being entirely high brow. Ring Lard-neSam Heilman, Will Rogers, appear there along with Sinclair Lewis and Sherwood Anderson. O.
