wife and sey mour B young ill all of salt lake president W H and joaeph S horne home of richfield arrived from koosharem Koo sharem at 1 30 on oil friday the church officials were on thursdays delayed train and they left sigfird just at dusk for the long drive to grass valley driven by president G S bastian and his counselor mr air stewart the drive wi was accomplished in record time the parts part reaching koosharem Koo sharem a little after 10 the people had assembled in their meeting place ex c pecking to hear president smith talk but when 10 arrived a and nd the expected visitors failed to appear the people disper sid amid great dis appointment when morning dawned the party started for loii loa president bastian steered the visitors to fish lake and showed them the beauties of that delightful region before heading beading for loa while the party was being conveyed to loa there was much bustle ind elci excitement t e ment around that town sunday school and from various wards arrived arid and at noon they formed into lines and marched out a half mile to neet Prel president ident smith when the vehicles carra carr ng the distinguished visitors came over the hill they beheld over sunday school workers awaiting them bearin banners designating the various departments and classes of the schools As soon as the party reached tile assembled children the pitter litter broke appreciation forthe for the honor shown him and pro bounced a blessing on the childr n and sunday school workers the entire party of visitors were then taken to the home of president bastian where the stains of travel were removed and dinner was served follow ing this a priesthood prest hood meeting was held in the tabernacle and reports of the various organizations and the building odthe of the stake edifice were ere submitted and other matters of importance discussed president smith and apostle smith both addressed the m meeting giving good instructions SATURDAY MORNING the first session of the dedicatory exercises was as held on saturday morning in the new tabernacle the stake officers and church officials occupied the stand behind them was seated the choir which had been assembled and drilled by john hood lor this to wayne stake occasion there were mere 50 singers and they rendered excellent music at all the sessions their first offering was the hymn awake ye saints of god awake aake and prayer was offered by joseph eckersly Ec keraly of the stake presidency the choir and congregation gre gation joined in singing now let us rejoice in the theda dai of salvation president bastian was the first sp speaker eaker he told of the struggle in the building of the tabernacle of the joys and borrows in the work and congratulated the people on its completion he thanked all who his sermon was as devoted to urging the people to study the bible he told of the values of the scriptures aiom every standpoint of whit what splendid ube could be made of them in every line of life lawyers studied the scriptures and quoted freely from them in both civil and criminal actions and the scriptures are acknowledged to be the basis of law justice and judgment the bible in every line of weighed against the habits of coming into public meetings late of talking and disturbing religious and other public gatherings he also expressed himself forcibly in the matter of intemperance and hoodlumism he urged more attention to pol t ness and good breeding calling attention to the fame of the japanese and french nations nation air for r their politeness he expressed the hope that the
