ap a a sort of advisory board senator james B wilson was the champion of the cannon b bill and although alt houch the senate president delit was lined up against him and made all kinds of rulings to prevent wilson from talking on the measure it was the evident intention of the c enemies of prohibition to railroad the cannon bill to its defeat and even benner X smith who was vas one of the ondon ants of the bill asked that fair play be given the minority chis resulted in the debate on the bill being drawn dran out for several hours senator wilson introduced a resolution that the cannon bill be referred to a special committee of nine members for consideration after two hours of debate on this the resolution waa wa defeated by a vote of the 12 caucus pledged senators against it and 6 in faor of it the afternoon session was riven given over to the discussion of the committee report and the prohibition movement and on a vote the same 12 caucus pledged senators to kill the bill and six
