Show WILL BUILD NEW TITHING OFFICE plans of handsome structure have been received and work will begin at once another creditable addition to rich fields list of public and semi public buildings will be made in the future when the latter day saints church erects its new tithing office this ig 11 the first of four buildings which are to le ie erected by the church in various portions of the state slid and at rexburg Rex burg idaho this season according to the same set of plans work on the local building will begin at once and will be rushed to completion tie the new tithing office will occupy the site of the building which is being used for that purpose at the present time owing to the far fact t that the old building will have hae to be wrecked no time will be lost in finishing work on the new structure when completed it vill ill be one of oe the handsomest and most modern structures truc tures in the co county ty and will afford accommodations for some of the departments that have h ave been slighted in the past the sta stile ic of architecture to be followed in the erection of the new ith mg ing bears a close resemblance to that of the well known carnegie carnagie libraries the plans were prepared by architects R herford and H insen of salt like city and they provide for one of the most striking building fronts to be seen outside of the larger otiel of the state pressed brick with stone trimmings will be the principal building materials and massive stone steps will lea to the large double doors at the front which are set in relief by two tio electric light bulbs mounted on hewy iron posts the main coition of the building will be wo two stories high ind there will be wing one story in n height on the cast and act the I bliwn awn will be graded so that it will slope from the foundation to the si dewalls s the m anin tin entrance will lead to a commodious hall which is to extend through the middle of the building and which abich will vill form the landing of wide stairways leiding le iding to the second floor and the basement A large room occupying the southeast portion of the building on tile the arst floor will be the office of the stake president and the high council room will adjoin the president s office on oil the tha north on apeci il occasions these offices may be made to serve as one largo large room by opening the sliding doors in the partition the corresponding rooms on the west side of the building will be made to serve as the bishops office ind and the receiving room the second floor will he be practically one largo large room which will be used as a place for holding meetings etc the basement will be equipped with alth a modern hot water heating plant the estr extreme m dimensions of tho the structure will be 30 by 46 feet it will be equipped with toilet rooms electric lights running water and all of the conveniences that the city affords according to the architects estimate the building will cost |
