Show yair fair exhibitors attention called to fair regulations jud judges judes 4 es announced from U S A C extension service with the sevier county fair opening thursday august 22 one week from today attention of all who contemplate placing exhibits in the fair is called to regulations to be eligible for prizes exhibits 1 roust must be on the grounds by certain hours designated by department supervisors judges from the extension ser vice of the utah state agricultural college were announced on wednesday by county agent lew war mar price as follows judge of crops professor J C hoganson judges of livestock professor alma C esplain and david sharp assistant state club leader judges of departments mrs effie barrows home management specialist and miss fern shi shipley P ley assistant state club leader the judges will be the same for junior entrants including 4 H and F F A groups and their exhibits should be on the grounds at the leour set for similar exhibits entered by adults agricultural and horticultural all agricultural and horticultural exhibits must be eltred by 10 a m ot of the opening day however a representative of these departments part ments will be on the grounds irom from 1 p in wednesday august 21 until evening and again early thursday to receive and place exhibits judging will start at 10 a C jn in thursday livestock Xiv estock the supervisors will vill appreciate having all livestock exhibits on the grounds by 7 wednesday evening so animals that will participate in the parade ran can be made ready by 10 thurs t day morning however entries will vill not be barred until juu gilig starts immediately after the parade scheduled for 10 a rn thursday as the opening event of the day bangs disease test required all cattle to be entered in the fair must be tested for bangs disease and tuberculosis testing will be arranged if exhibitors exhibitor will swill contact either lew mar price county agricultural agent or dr fred B haynie poultry exhibits of poultry rabbits rabbit sand and pigeons should be entered at the grounds by 9 thursday morning domestic science and art all domestic science and art exhibits must be entered by 2 0 clock wednesday afternoon as the judging will vill commence at that hour this ruling applies to everything ery cry thing departments except perishable foods such aabak as baked foods which may be entered the morning of august 22 the domestic science department has revised its premium list this year according to mrs john borgquist supervisor A first prize of 10 for best display of home canned foods by an organized group should bring in a number of such displays there is also a prize for best display of canned foods by an individual and one for a display of pickles which may be either a group or an individual A junior department for younger homemakers is a new section and includes cakes cookies and candies all entrants are requested to leave their loaf cakes unfrosted layer cakes may be iced as before the kerr canning contest in which there are three classes fruit vegetables and meats offers two dozen kerr quart jars for a first prize and one dozen kerr quart jars for second prize each entry must include two quarts or four pints this is a separate contest and anyone wishing to compete must make separate entries flowers and fine arts all flowers and fine arts ex cx jL hibits must be entered by 10 a in thursday P F peterson supervisor urges hearty cooperation in making the floral flon al and fine arts exhibits outstanding |
