Show v J BAKER funeral services were held friday afternoon in the richfield second ward chapel for mrs amanda caroline jensen baker 78 of richfield wife of the late william wilham george baker who died september 16 at soda springs idaho where she had been visiting her daughter bishop legrande C presided at the services speakers were mrs john hiskey a lifelong friend who had been closely associated with the bakers when they lived at boulder W L warner and bishop frank mrs G read a poem she I 1 had ad written for the occasion and a tribute from camp cove D U P was read by mrs win gardner A quartet composed of mrs L A poulson mrs D E R 0 jackman and talmage delange accompanied by mrs wm win osborne sang the opening and closing songs lead kindly light and abide with me A duct whispering hope was vas sung by L A poulson and mrs otto L anderson talmage DeLango DeLan gesang sang lay my head beneath a rose the invocation was by bishop alex jensen of the richfield third ward the benediction by J B wilson claud V baker of boulder dedicated the grave interment being in the richfield cemetery pallbearers Pall bearers were guy baker bradley wilson grant larsen reed M ogden and two grandsons mr condie of idaho and mr nielson of marysvale Marys vale relief society members carried the many beautiful floral tributes SAMUEL MELVIN HOOPER samuel melvin hooper 44 a world war veteran who died on september 18 following an appendicitis operation at the veterans hospital in salt lake was paid a fitting tribute at funeral services held friday afternoon in the monroe north ward chapel bishop lyle asay conducted the services the north ward choir under direction of mrs lyle asay sang sometime well understand and beyond the smiling mrs spencer eusworth ellsworth was soloist and mrs bert swain accompanist for the choir numbers A male quartet from the annabella ward sang 1 I know my heavenly father knows solos were 1 I have read of a beautiful city sung by H clynn thurston of annabella and my buddy sung by mrs bert swain speakers were P L fillmore of annabella a lifelong life long friend of mr hooper arthur lundgreen commander of the american legion post 37 joseph A smith and bishop asay the invocation was by eli ed lundgreen the benediction by elijah jensen hans dedicated the grave interment being in the monroe cemetery pallbearers Pall bearers were legionnaires earl collings jack nazer heber ealr collings jack nazer heber taylor bud morrison and lester lowe 1 ebion auxiliary members carried the many flowers local members of the national guard followed in the procession mr hooper was born at annabella a son of samuel and elsie leavitt hooper an active L D S church worker he served as an officer in the M I 1 A and sunday school in the annabella ward and I 1 after moving to monroe he served is as a ward teacher and as a member of the north ward welfare committee surviving are his widow mrs olive newby hooper four sons alfred leroy merrill and jay one daughter shirley may and the following brothers and sisters T douglas and jay hooper of ogden albert and R hooper of annabella mrs bertha jensen of richfield Richtie ld mrs dora kay andars and mrs nellie fillmore Fill of annabella 0 NIELS HENRY ANDERSON niels henry anderson 47 died monday at noon at his home in elsinore his health had not been normal for a number of years but he was confined to his bed only two weeks ago death resulted from a tumor on one of his lungs mr anderson was born febra 1 ary 27 1892 at central a son of niels and karon christene peteri son anderson his early life was spent at central where he married christie nielson on june 2 6 1912 they moved to elsinore in in 1918 mr anderson was a car benter but in recent years had not been able to practice his trade and had operated a shoe shop at elsinore until a year ago surviving are his wife one son chester anderson of redmond three daughters mrs phyllis peterson of redmond mrs ivy nelson of richfield and miss freeda anderson of elsinore and one grandchild funeral services will be held today oday thursday at 2 p in in the elsinore Sl ward chapel |
