| Show well known resident dies suddenly funeral held field tuesday in first ward f for or katherine werry many friends and relatives gathered in the richfield first ward chapel at noon tuesday to pay a final tribute to airs katherine lawson worry werry who died at 1045 saturday night at her home be here re after having been ill but a few licurs liours bishop junius F ogden ed at the services the organ prelude and postlude wei e p ayad by mrs airs lizzie hansen who acted as accompanist also for a reque request st number softly and tenderly jesus is calling sung by mrs effie erickson finck son hulbert of salt lake a former richfield resident two selections abide with me and sprayer prayer were sung by a double mixed quartet composed of mrs L A poulson mrs lynn C nielson mrs otto L anderson mis vern blomquist quist owen bingham L E davis talmage delange and don li hansen ansen with carvel mattsson at the piano A ladies trio mrs airs poulson mrs airs anderson andars and mrs blomquist sang the closing number the lord is my shepherd speakers were C P christensen and G IV coons both of whom recalled their early acquaintance with mrs werry and spoke with appreciation of her talent and the active part she had taken in music and dramatics as a girl of her later business activities of her keen sense of humor optimism and sympathy and of her devotion to her family and friends mr christensen read a poem mis alis werry had written as an expression of friendship to mrs christensen mrs airs carvel mattsson read two of mrs IN Wor Terrys rys poems entitled my grandsons and mother cr sentiments k of respect and appreciation from the richfield study club were given by the club president mrs airs ray E carr the invocation was by frank 31 ogden the benedic I 1 tion by wilfond L ashby A G young an uncle dedicated the grave interment being in the city cemetery pallbearers Pall bearers were nephews kenneth robert kimball and rex tawson mawson don mcmaster and grant ogden relief society members carried the profusion of beautiful floral tributes mrs worris death came as a shock to her family and friends although her health had not been the best for several years she had been as well as usual saturday afternoon when her mother returned from a two weeks visit in salt lake accompanied by mr and mrs airs H 0 sanford and daughter sally sue and mrs margaret boyle she became ill shortly after six in the evening her daughters were called but arrived about an hour after she passed away av ay for years prominent in business and social circles in richfield mrs 31 verry was the first president of the he richfield business and probes club federated with the state and national organizations zat ions at the time of her death ahe was a member of the richfield study club and a member of camp eutaw daughters of utah pioneers As a girl she was active in home dramatics in the M IA was I 1 a member of the stake choir and a I 1 vocal soloist for various events she had taken an active part in democratic Democrat iq party organizations mrs airs werry was owner and manager of a millinery shop in richfield for ten years prior to which time she had been a clerk in the J C penney co store while in california a few years ago she had completed a course as a beautician but had not actively engaged in the work she had devoted most of her time the past few years to care of her aged parents her father leaving passed away only recently talented in various lines mrs airs werry had recently taken up study of the piano and oil painting she wrote many poems which are arc prized by her family and friends she was vas to be featured on a program of poets and composers at a uraY in meeting of the richfield sauly club born in salt lake city juno june 8 1880 1850 she was a daughter of an drew and agnes young lawson and had lived in utah all her life spending most of her time in rich field surviving are arc her mother two daught daughters ets mrs nola page morris moms and mrs madeline worry werry ring of salt lake city five grandsons three sisters mrs airs H A mcmaster of garfield mrs airs H 0 sanford of salt lake city and mrs lloyd mount of tonopah To nevada and a brother william lawson of salt lake |
