Show communicable disease report Is submitted forty cases of chickenpox chicken pox 28 cases of measles 27 cases of scarlet fever 11 1 1 cases of mumps and 16 cases of all other communicable diseases were reported dur during in g the week ending october 22 from all parts of the state to the division of communicable disease control according to dr william M mckay assistant collaborating epidemiologist demi for the united states public health service and director of the division of communicable disease control utah state board of health dr mckay made public today the first weekly report of communicable muni cable diseases in the state this rort will continue he cy cw and will be a tremendous aid to local health officers in the vigilant fight which will be continued against the spread of able diseases the only counties in the state which made no reports during the period covered by this weekly summary were daggett and san juan and only incomplete reports were received from the following counties boxelder Box elder duchesne garfield grand iron kane piute rich sanpete San pete tooele thoele washington and wayne these incomplete reports account no doubt dr mckay says for the fact that no diseases are reported from ten of the twelve counties mentioned dr J L jones state health commissioner com missioner stresses the importance of these reports to increased efficiency in controlling the spread of communicable disease and pointed out that local health officers should send their reports of communicable diseases to the state board of health promptly on friday frida da y of each week when local health officers are in doubt as to just how to proceed in this matter they should communicate immediately with the district health officer representing the state board of health in their localities or with the division of communicable disease dont control rol at the state capitol one case of scarlet fever one of whooping cough and two of chick were reported from sevier county on october 22 but the report of october 29 showed only thi the one case of scarlet fever |
