Show THE COURT ISSUE it can perhaps be taken for granted that the changes in the federal courts suggested by president roosevelt would not have been asked for if the supreme court had not declared unconstitutional tut ional various laws passed by congress for the regulation of industry austry and agriculture by the federal government the people are the court of final resort if they want the federal government to take on the authority which these laws provide they have the power to carry that desire into effect many will feel that the best way to do it if this is the feeling of the people would be to pass a constitutional amendment giving the federal government these additional powers the objection raised to that course is that it takes too long to get constitutional amendments ratified in 1933 the amendment ie ic pealing prohibition was ratified within 10 months after congress passed it it is not as aa d difficult biffi c ul t to amend the constitution as s some ome people think |
