Show 1 00 OT H IR MUSIC GROUPS WILL ATTEND FESTIVAL high school will close for event on wednesday april 28 displaying new uniforms and demonstrating the results of careful training during the school year the richfield high school band directed by dallin nielson Nl elson will enter the district music festival at ephraim next wednesday the concert presented by the band and others of the music department part ment of the school before a large audience at the stake tabernacle wednesday night of last week placed the last of the necessary funds fluids for uniforms in the treasury of the band mothers club sponsors of the project to secure uniforms the band mothers president mrs parley poulson reports that the uniforms were purchased after careful consideration of the fact that cheaper uniforms in the past have been expensive in the long run the cost of each of the 40 uniforms purchased w was as am follows coat 1530 cap citation cord 1 belt 1 trousers or slacks paid for by the individual members a total of 2295 each or for all of them coats are of finest all wool and trousers are of equally good washable cotton in addition to the high school band mr nielsen has scheduled the following entries in the festival junior high school band R I H 1 S ladies chorus of 35 mixed voices and a mixed chorus of 50 voices ladies trio oboe solo margaret poulson saxophone solo keith cope piano solo margaret poulson alto solo pauline winkel soprano solo not yet selected owen bingham will direct the richfield senior orchestra at the festival and will also enter the junior high school girls glee club a string quartet composed of mae sevy shirley gardner zola bean and robert sylvester and a string trio composed of carolyn poulson frances hunter and lena peterson although jill all of the school buses will be required to io transport the music students to the contest the high school will close for the day permitting other students to attend if they wish and can find transportation the junior high school will not be closed |
