Show counte HELTH L NOW R T thurber elected chairman constitution B y laws adopted R T thurber was selected chairman of the sevier county health council organized at a meeting of representative citizens from all parts of the county held friday evening at the county court house ariel parker joseph town president was elected vice chairman and mrs earl lewis was elected secretary upon suggestion of chariton chairman of the board of county commissioners and mayor W L warner selection of other board members was postponed until a later date miss martha J west district supervisor of public health nurses outlined the plan for the council a and n dp presented resented everyone present a c copy 0 py of the proposed constitution and bylaws by laws as drafted by state leaders in the health program the constitution and bylaws by laws were adopted by the organization and signed by R T thurber as chairman of the council and by chariton as chairman of the board of county commissioners the third friday of each month was selected as the regular meeting date of the council it was decided by vote that council activities could be decided by vote of a majority of council members business of organization being disposed of miss west gave a talk on child health work stressing defects found among school children and discussing the proposed corrective programs in sevier county she called attention to the month of may designated by the federal govern government men t as child health month and devoted to better health for every child the program is sponsored by the american medical a oc mica ecat ulso aiso announced plans for a diagnostic clinic for crippled children to be held in richfield ih june she proposed better acquaintance with the tate state sanitary department and stated stated that a sanitary survey survey is available for any city if requested by art an official group dr D B gottfredson department commander of the american legion one of the sponsors odthe of the proposed tuberculosis sanatorium sanit orium mentioned sevier county as an ideal location for the sanatorium sanit orium orlum a suggestion approved by several members dr E W poulson stated that the health council was something the county had needed for a long time and urged full cooperation in the program |
