Show NT at north sevier stake conference held in new church building president heber J grant dedicated the new aurora ward chapel sunday afternoon at the third session of the north sevier stake conference which was held in the new building more than persons attended the services visiting speakers at the conference commended the aurora ward on their work in completing pl the building and on the beauty of the structure speaking of the effort made president grant said happiness and joy are earned by mans own efforts in progressive gres sive worthwhile causes construction on the chapel which was completed at a cost of was started in april 1924 in the latter part of 1925 the roof had been placed but nothing further was done until 1928 anwen when the walls were plastered and the building closed in because of financial problems the work was then discontinued until the early spring of this year when it was renewed and carried on quite steadily until its completion in september the contractor for the building was D AT anderson the carpenter leland nielsen and the painting was supervised by joe beck all of salina much of the labor was donated by members of the ward speakers at the sunday sessions of the conference which was in charge of H C williams of salina president of the north th sevier stake were levi moroni lazenby and arthur lazenby of aurora president R D young of the manti temple president E W poulson of the sevier stake ross hunt and G M burr of salina music for the conference was furnished by the aurora ward choir a chorus of voices from the north sevier high school and a male quartet from the redmond ward A musical program and a pageant were presented sunday evening under auspices of the stake M I 1 A |
