Show state commission suggests livestock taxing schedule to assure uniformity throughout the state in livestock assessment the state tax commission saturday sent a proposed livestock valuation schedule for the year 1936 to all county assessors while we have recommended the values for the purpose of maintaining uniformity in the assessment of livestock in the state the commission said in its letter to the assessors we want you to feel free in making a proper adjustment in the assessment of any livestock which do not conform to the average values which we have suggested in some cases you will undoubtedly find it necessary to assess certain livestock for rates higher than we have suggested and in other cases a lower valuation may be necessary but in the long run we feel that the average will be about as we have recommended the commission pointed out that in the case of bulls feeder cattle blooded cattle and goats there is such a variation in the kinds of livestock that make up these classes that it was thought to be unwise to attempt to set a uniform value it is suggested that assessments in these classes be fixed in a I 1 manner consistent with values placed on other livestock the per head valuations suggested are as follows range calves 7 cows 13 yearlings yearnings year lings 12 two year olds 20 dairy cows 25 stock sheep 3 purebred ewes and rams 6 swine 5 per hundred weight farm horses 25 to 40 foxes 30 bees 3 for each stand poultry |
