Show URGE FUNER OF J A JESSEN lodges unite with ward in services in third ward chapel sunday the third ward chapel was crowded to capacity when funeral services were held there sunday afternoon for jesse andrew jessen 69 who died at his home here thursday morning of a heart allent ailment following pneumonia which ho he contracted about a month ago speakers at the services which were presided over by bishop alex jensen were representative of the varied organizations with which mr jessen had served his honesty and willingness to serve in whatever he thought was right was especially stressed by the speakers who praised him as a high type of citizen and offered consolation to his bereaved family the speakers were R T thurber Thur SL 11 C nelson A J ashman ferdinand erickson and bishop jensen bishop jensen spoke briefly of resolutions of respect from hirt hiram rim lodge no 12 F A AL the richfield 1 I 0 0 P F lodge the richfield commercial savings bank of which mr air jensen was a director and the sevier valley canal co in which lie he had also served as an officer musical numbers were my jesus as thou wilt my prayer and abide with me by a double mixed quartet composed of mrs reginald peterson mrs airs roy christensen mrs airs harold nielson mrs floyd bell jonathan lloyd roy christensen floyd bell aria and A W rowley with mrs fred dunn as accompanist and a vocal duet one sweetly solemn thought by mrs L A poulson andmios and Miss marion marien dean bean accompanied by miss mildred hansen the invocation was by jas jan P poulson the benediction by L P hansen interment was in the city cemetery G W coons dedicated the grave active pallbearers pall bearers were rehnon nelson neal madsen paul packard glen thorsen lamar jensen and geo whyte honorary pall bearers were guy lewis I H 1 S beu bell frank pritchett F X carron W B pace H H petersen and J H nelson the latter two being unable to attend all pall bearers were members of hiram lodge the me many beautiful floral tributes were carried by members of crystal rebekah lodge and gloria chapter no 19 0 B E S jesse andrew A jessen jensen was born october 31 1865 at mt pleasant a 3 son of mr and mrs jesse jessen with the family he moved to ephraim when a year old and four years later to richfield at an early age he helped his stepfather in freighting farm produce from richfield to frisco later go 0 alone as far as pioche nevada he was married to emma anderton december 24 1889 in 1893 he secured a mail contract in millard county and moved to scipio living there for two years then moving to fill fillmore more where he resided two years he spent the rest of his life in richfield he was active as a farmer and livestock man he owned and managed one of the first meat markets in richfield for nine years ending in 1908 mr jessen was prominent in p public bublic affairs having served four dent of the sevier valley canal association for 18 years director of the canal board for seven the time of his death president of the otter creek voir association for one term and director in the richfield commercial savings bank for many years which also was a position he held at the time of his death mr air jensen had bad been a member of the odd fellows lodge for over thirty years had the twenty tyrenty five year jewel and held at different times all the offices of the lodge he had been a mason for over twenty years a degree M mason a a 11 shriner Shri rIner ncr and had held all 0 offices afi es being worshipful master in 1916 surviving him are his widow and nine children mrs P R hansen and delance jensen richfield arleigh jessen sacramento cal noble D jensen montebello cal norvilla jessen los angeles cal mrs G B anderton and mrs carrie J christensen salt lake city mrs alvin helquist Koo koosharem sharem and dorothy jessen jensen who is attending the lj S A C at logan the following half brothers and half sisters survive lee jessen jensen price jesse jessen jensen gardena cal 0 P jessen jensen kingston amel anderson springville Spring ville mrs anna farnsworth farsworth carrey idaho mrs macella poulson and mrs A G young richfield four grandchildren survive all of the immediate family except two sons arleigh and noble the latter having visited his father during his illness were here for the funeral services others who came to richfield for the services were amel anderson of spring ville 0 E jessen and family of kingston mr and mrs R J anderton and caleb world of salt lake city mrs willis perkins of bountiful mr and mrs airs J H mcdonald of lark mr and mrs bill grant of bingham miss fein young and robert funk of ephraim ephaim |
