Show GOOD FOR full SCHOOL TERM THIS YEAH numerous matters considered at meeting of board of education for the first time in several years e a rs prospects a are re good for continuing the sevier district schools to the close of a normal term an estimate of the probable revenues and expenditures for the rest of the school term was made by B C luth clerk at the meeting of the board of education held here monday and the figures indicate that school finances will be sufficient for eight and a half or nine months this year revenues will be made available largely as a result of the bill passed by the state legislature which guarantees to every school district the full 25 per capita fund and the full 3 per capita equalization fund in previous years these two funds have always been short because of delinquent taxes now however the full ua amount is guaranteed by taking tz ig money from the sales tax the law a v providing that after the tax has produced which it has done already further receipts from this source will accumulate for the school fund this should give the sevier district about additional revenue this year A teachers salary schedule was considered but no definite decision was made it was decided that contracts should be submitted to teachers on may 1 to be return ablo abla by may 15 the hot lunch project will be continued until may 1 according to the boards decision at the meeting monday the board also received applications for or support in organization of pro ejects acts for improvements on the richfield high school and junior ligh high school campuses and on the south sevier high school campus at monroe the board deferred any action on the matter until time ime of fixing next years budget the projects were the removal of the canal and leveling of the ground back of the high school building DUil ding at Mon planting of trees braes for a windbreak on the south and west side of the R H S campus parking of the th i c entire space on the so south uth side construction of cement walks connect connecting in 9 the front with the south and north entrances of the building and the planting of additional shrubs and flowers the project at the junior high school campus calls for parking of the square on which the shop building stands stand A report of work conducted in th the e schools of the district by the school nurses miss therma greene and miss putnam from december 21 to february 25 was submitted as follows number of children seen number excluded number re admitted other inspections number sent to M D 12 number sent to L D S hospital 7 eye inspections as a result of which 3 trips were made mad e with the school bus taking children to an eye specialist at provo 22 defects found 67 |
