Show INCOME TAX LAW STILL sil WK THE FILING FEE tax commission will enforce law asks cooperation in reducing cost residents of the state of utah atall should notice that the provisions of the income tax bill now being considered by the legislature of this state will not in any way affect the liability for filing income tax returns covering the taxable year 1934 such returns should be filed bled with the state tax commission or on one e of its branch offices on or before march 15 1935 in the usual manner states a letter received from the state tax commission it is to be further noted that a recent court decision rendered by judge mckinney of the third district court in no way affects the liability of a resident for the payment of the filing fee the court did not rule upon whether or not the filing fee was constitutional but simply held that a criminal complaint could not be maintained in the case in question neither will the passage of the bill now before the legislature relieve a resident from the payment of th the 0 filing fee for the year 1934 in connection with returns now being filed for last year the new bin bill will only cover the filing of re turns in 1936 and thereafter until a further change Is made it will be the duty of the state tax commission to enforce the provisions of the income tax laws in accordance with the above and the cooperation of all residents of this state will tend to reduce the costs of administration which after all fall upon those subject to the t tax |
