Show UTH WE NET MOHE T an MILLION huge hug ge volume of busin business ess is is f handled in spite of depression collectively speaking speak ng rig utah poultry men are now millionaires it is disclosed by the annual report of the utah poultry producers cooperative association just released by clyde C edmonds general manager the report shows that for the first time in the state associations 12 years history it will end the year with a net worth of more than this sum re rc presents the member producers collective equity in their cooperative or organization 0 animation the net worth of the association is the amount its assets exceed liabilities it is made up of equipment cash on hand band inventories and accounts receivable and is estimated to be 85 per cent liquid this net worth was accumulated from surplus earnings and from the cent a dozen scale off on eggs handled by the utah association the report shows that the state poultry association did nearly worth of business in 1933 despite the depression subnormal buying and low prices most of this money was in new wealth brought into the state from other states and distributed among the associations m members e rn b e r s throughout utah and southern idaho the principal item of this business was in egg exports which aggregated cases or nearly 1000 carloads and brought 3 gross ross or net the average net price per case was du during ring the year in 1932 a total of cases of eggs were shipped to other states where they sold for a gross price of thus netting the producers or an average of per case during the year just past I 1 pounds of live an and d dressed I 1 poultry was also exported to other states where it brought compared with about pounds in 1932 making an increase this year of nearly per cent the report indicates |
