sponsored by the daughters of utah pioneers and the american legion Xe gion who will endeavor to make the day a marked success the activities will begin with vOth the early morning serenade by the band at 10 a m in the south ward chapel mrs violet for forbush ush chairman will conduct a program which will viii include a tribute to the pioneers by mrs airs C A white A harmonica band is expected to furnish numbers musical numbers and readings from the talented young people of the community are looked forward to and will tend to bring out the pioneer spirit and enthusiasm at the american legion will take over the activities novelty races for the kiddies and young folks will take place on the public square glen winget chairman promises plenty of amusements in this line earl collings ceilings in charge of the childrens dance announces that it will be held in the north ward amusement hall at 4 p m a ball game is to be played between members of the lions club and american legion this part of the program is in charge of bert and boyd brown at 5 p m horse races under the direction of bud 11 morrison orrison and committee will be run on first west street the pioneers will be entertained separately in the city park at 5 p m by a special committee with hazel kiersted directing featuring reminiscences and old time music some special soloists will sing songs of long ago to entertain these worthy pioneers the program will conclude with the committee serving refreshments to the fast diminishing number of pioneers of the at 6 p m a band concert will wil be bc given in the park by the monroe band wesley pearce conduct in ing A general argeneral invitation is given to the outside communities to make monroe their goal for the celebration the committees feel confident the
