Show JOINT LIONS CLUBS HOLD INTE HISTING D NCE district governor declares organization leads service clubs thirty five couples of lions and their wives enjoyed the banquet program and dance held last friday evening at the johnston hotel in honor of the visit of district governor charles W sandles 0 of f idaho falls an epidemic of influenza prevented any lions comin coming from panguitch or kanab and ana only mr and mrs airs E C wright were present to represent the salina club the monroe and gunnison clubs turned out with a splendid representation the program consisted of two peppy tap dances by miss mary louise winter accompanied by miss mildred hansen at the piano mrs helen poulson delighted the audience with two request numbers trees and strange interlude with miss hansen accompanying pa nying E H hansen of the richfield high school recited his hig own clever version of killings Kip Mp lings if dedicated to the lions and responded to an encore with an english dialect recitation the honor guest mr sandles gave an address in which he alt cited the history and ideals of stating that this organization leads all other service clubs in the world in the rapidity of growth and the number of clubs in f ive five nations four new members H E beal logan spaulding dr L A poulson and percy hanson were initiated into the richfield club with a burlesque ceremony two other members dr D B gottfredson and frank pace were reinstated into membership and introduced to the audience the festivities ended with a dance to music by the St rollers orchestra |
