Show 0 SALINA I 1 by special correspondent 0 0 I 1 sorrowing friends and relatives met at the second ward chapel wednesday to pay a last tribute to william gee who died march 4 at his home in mcgill nevada bishop G al burr had charge 0 of f the services miss stena SC orup G lorentzen and bishop burr were the speakers musical numbers were by the choir in addition to a 1 vocal so solo I 1 0 on wings of snow by james ja mes C jensen and a selection by a quartet lay my aly head beneath a rose the body was taken to the east cast cemetery for in tei ment william gee was born june 11 II 1852 at england and resided there until 1875 when he came to america he was an old resident of sevier and sanpete counties and had lived in salina 19 years in 1880 he married anna sophia olsen he was active in erblic public affairs having served several er times as justice of the peace shoe repairing r e pairing was his trade he is survived by his wife and the following children mrs airs thorvald andreason Andr cason and mrs airs eldred murphy of salina mrs airs george C crane tony ted and garney gamey gee of mcgill nevada mrs airs harold phelps and waldo gee of los angeles and mrs mark C brown of salt lake surviving also are four sisters three brothers and 13 grandchildren mrs hettie allred was laid at rest thursday afternoon in the east cemetery following funeral services in the second ward chapel As musical numbers at the services A C played a violin solo and J C jensen sg sang going home J C of redmond and miss stena were the speakers brief remarks were also made by members of the local camp of daughters of utah pioneers of which she was the first chaplain mrs allred was born bom in hancock county iowa november 13 1845 and died march 7 in salt lake at the home of her daughter mrs R A burch mrs airs allred came to sanpete county in 1861 there she married stephen allred and after his death she moved to t 0 salina which was her home for 40 years the past two years of her life were spent in salt lake with her daughter miss pearl jensen spent sunday in richfield visiting friends miss aliss dee returned home friday to attend the junior prom she left sunday for salt lake to resume her studies there miss aliss helen mason of aurora was a house guest of miss both beth sorensen saturday and sunday mrs airs leon peterson spent saturday with friends at manti miss helen jensen entertained several friends at her home wednesday evening the north sevier high school juniors were elated over the success of their prom friday night after all expenses were paid they had over 90 left for their treasury for the prom the high school gym was decorated with blue and gold in a japanese motif the grand march was lead by mrs airs deward devard hopkins and marion bird Commit committee bee chairmen for the prom were miss goldie cohen general chairman miss neda herbert decorations ora eions miss edith program lapreal cloward advertising I 1 verl poulson and louie lard son dance programs on friday morning the juniors gave an assembly with the japanese idea carried out lloyd ivie who spent several years in the orient gave a talk on the customs of f the people and their national anthem was sung by his little daughter and a small japanese girl solos were also sung by dale prows and loren lore n gushing cushing miss pearl jensen was hostess to a few friends thursday afternoon card games and refresh ments mants were enjoyed E allen alien jensen who was an in j sti actor in the high school here a year or so ago visited here friday |
