Show HELD F MIR J W WHO many out of town friends and relatives attend many friends an and d relatives of the ward family congregated in the fourth ward chapel it at the stake tabernacle thursday afternoon to pay tribute to mrs elizabeth ann ward wife of john ward who passed aw away ny at her home the previous monday following low ing an opera operation tion many b beautiful e a ui ticul f loral floral offerings among them a number from associates alsoc assoc lates of the ward family in salt lake were placed on the bier stake and ward genealogical workers david chidester andrew L knaphus jos al peterson jacob dastrup leonard ogden and john ence acted as pallbearers pall bearers mrs ward had bad been constantly associated with genealogical committees and with her husband had spent many years compiling genealogical records bishop george F christensen presided at the tee services the choir sang appropriate musical numbers and as a solo mrs helen poulson sang that wonderful mother of mine speakers were A M Mau maughan glian who gave a biographical sketch of the deceased president F H gunn bishop H J hansen and A hoskison of salt lake city who joined the L D S church at the same time as did mr and mrs ward and who knew them in england the invocation was offered by president jas 31 peterson and the benediction by L P hansen A long cortege of cars followed the remains to the final resting place in the city cemetery A J fillmore dedicated the grave with the exception of lawrence who is laboring in the hawaiian mission all of the children of mrs ward were in attendance at the services lawrence who is the fifth son to go on a mission sion was on account of his mothers illness released to come horne home when he be was informed by a radiogram of her death he will now stay in the islands and complete the four or five remaining months of his mission |
