Show 0 TORREY I 1 by special correspondent I 1 aged pioneer passes away sarah holt 86 aged pioneer r of utah and wife of william A holt deceased passed to her reward saturday morning mrs holt was born bom august 25 1844 in england she came to utah with her parents john and sarah tracey bracey wardle when a child she later married william A holt and they made then their home at Hoyt hoytsville sille weber county after living there a number of years they moved to hamil hamilton ton fort in southern utah then t they bey moved to escalante and from there to torrey they made t their heir home here for many years mr holt was postmaster for nineteen years tb they ey were of pioneer spirit and built n many i a ny homes in various parts of the t L country mr and mrs airs holt sold their little home in 1919 and went to live with one of their sons at price in 1920 mr holt died and mrs airs holt came to live with her sons john holt of burrville Burr ville and leo R holt of torre torrelt she died at the home of leo R holt three children preceded pc Tre eded ceded her in in death she is survived by the following children james holt of perron mrs sarah A jacobs of roosevelt john holt of burrville Burr ville leo R holt of torrey aaron holt of green river stella holt of price lon and enoch holt A number of grandchildren great grandchildren and great great grandchildren survive survive funeral services were held monday and interment took place in the torrey cemetery f rulon behunin and sisters sarah bullard and bertha amps left sunda sunday for emery county where they will spend a week visiting relatives they will rill then go to duchesne county to spend a few days with relatives there they expect to be gone two weeks mr and mrs airs lawrence olsen oisen mart olsen and daughter mrs edna cullum of castle gate are enjoying a trip at fisli fish creek lake john hancock was injured while riding a horse near a bank the bank caved in but he fell from the horse as it jumped to safety and missed goerg over the bank mr hancock received a few bruises and other minor injuries but is now able to be at work again A mr I 1 r and mrs airs melvin mclvin loo lee me aie the proud parents off of a baby bo boy born bom A monday all concerned are doing nicely don F hickman returned to his home in salina tuesday after spending a few days in wayne coul county ltv I 1 merin aberin and cora smith were guests it at the home of jed mott a 1 few lays days last week newel behunin lester bahu behunin ernest noyes and 0 behunin left a short time ago for edalio where they expect to find employment emire emare they ire are at delco idaho at the present time the their 1 i r trip was not so successful because of car trouble donald genesee and josephine newberry New beny ellis and beail godon I 1 and melrose johnson all from national were guests at the BI blackburn hackburn home days mis alis Black blackburn buin is the grandmother ran of the newberry children earl mulford of fruita is spending a few lays days here nell gifford of fruita visited relatives here a short time ago niel and jane forsyth and angeline g coleman of teasdale left t last ast week for idaho where they expect to visit relatives for some time ime fern jackson returned from bryce canyon a few days ago dave allen alien and laughter daughter elva have lave returned home from salt lake city elva had been visiting relatives there the past two months ellis and hattie robinson spent a few lays days last week in i sevier county delia pierce and clarence mott arrived home last week from salt lake city where they had been attending the summer session at the state university jay and stena erickson of ferron spent a few days alicle with mrs ericksone Erick sons sister beddella Be idella huntsman bundsman Bunts man they returned home monday claud holt spent monday at fish ish lake he was accompanied by sam chidester of bicknell mr and mrs alonzo king and children chil dien and mr and mrs owen busenbark and son P ulon rulon returned from a trip to bryce canyon may coombs annie king and cora king of the primary stake board were visitors at sacramental meeting sunday they gave some good instructions to parents in regard to their duties in assisting in primary work ghe the local primary offices ceis cels held a social wednesday afternoon the stake officers rhoda taylor dena webster and reba stewart and the loa ward president counselors and secretary were present the parents had been invited and also the bishopric sonic some good suggestions on primary work were offered by the stake and local officers president 31 nelda e I 1 d a M cook and counselors golda bullard and ida hickman served a lunch LAI peden was suddenly stricken with a stroke sunday noon his speech was affected it is hoped by his many friends that lie he will oon hoon ie lecover cover |
