| Show M off FOB paying i HIKES tl 1 U gECE MgER IW 2 gl county commissioners grant the request of many petitioners Petition ers the date of delinquency in in payment of taxes in sevier county was postponed from november 30 to december 20 at a meeting of the board of county commissioners held monday in the county court house the commissioners were given authority to make the postponement by the presentation tation of a petition signed by a hundred or more taxpayers taxpayers of the county several other items of business bu in addition to the usual routine kept the commissioners busy all day monday and part of tuesday an appropriation of was made for the maintenance of the fremont emery road in sevier county additional election judges were appointed for districts no 13 and no 11 william peterson director of extension service of the U S A C sent to the board a request that flowing wells in the county be closed during the winter except where the water was absolutely necessary for culinary purposes the letter was the result of an investigation made lecent decently ly by mr peterson relative to conservation of artesian water throughout the state the commissioners ners will call a meeting of owners of flowing wells in the near future to see what action car can be taken A report from the state road commission gave as a reason for not oiling roads in the county this fall the fact that the unusually heavy rainfall early in the season made oiling at that time inadvisable because the oil does not m mix ix well with wet gravel and that later in the season weather conditions were not favorable as ine 4 lie oil will not mi mix properly in cold weather it was therefore necessary to posts postpone one th the e oi oiling ling 0 of f the roads until spring the hall halloween oween motif lent much charm to the bridge luncheon presided over by mrs A L stallings at her home wednesday afternoon ter noon four tables were arranged for bridge at which mrs J milton olsen mrs L R fournier mrs norman andreason Andi eason and mrs J G forsey won the awards |
