of princess journal is and prince era was the big part of the program the cast was princess journal bessie jackson prince era leath the minister bishop C E peterson fairy godmother mrs joseph ladies in waiting the misses thressa colby and hazel flower girls mary albertson and shirley lords Le acon cushin gushing and reed gates pages elwood borg org and clair anderson after the ceremony the big wedding cake was cut and passed out to the audience other parts on the program were orchestra numbers piano duet by misses hazel and dora a musical reading opal christensen five minute talk albert albertson song loren gushing reading amy murphy talks by stake officers and the sounding of the slogan games were p played eyed after the program and later refreshments fresh ments were served by the junior girls the second ward mutual Mutu als open ing program was held tuesday evening of last week the characters for the storybook wedding were princess journal fern prince era doris madsen minister helen gribble fairy godmother mozella anderson ladies in waiting misses hazel and iva snow lords joy and louise flower girls marie alarie whitbeck and barbara merrill pages lola wright and carol anderson other parts on the program were al I 1 A we hail thee by james C jensen talks by mrs jesse day and dr don C merrill and the sounding of the slogan following the program a light lunch was served and dancing indulged in m lions hear talks on mining alining at the lions club meeting held thursday evening at the main alain cafe E F B daude james allen alien and E C Christians cn who were good will visitors gave brief talks on the development work on the promising ore deposits of mining properties near richfield the club members went vent on record as being in in favor of full cooperation in the opening of all n mineral res resources ournes in in the county john barnard gave a report of the work on the lions trail this summer and said that the progress was good but more funds would be needed before the highway could be completed the finance committee of the club cooperating with the road committee will take the matter up and see what they can do to hasten up the work legrande dark clark and W F arbogast new members of the high school faculty were guests at the luncheon mrs veda thompson laid to rest at the funeral held thursday afternoon at the second ward chapel for mrs veda thompson relatives from far and near gathered to pay their last respects mrs thompson died monday evening at the local i li hospital 0 s p i t a I 1 following confinement bishop G al M burr presided at the services bishop C E embly of gunnison J oscar anderson H C williams and mrs elden humphrey were the speakers musical numbers included selections by the choir vocal solos by james C jensen and E L and a violin solo by A C invocation was offered by E C wright following the services the body was taken to the north cemetery for interment pallbearers Pall bearers were ernest jed tom and onest herbert and terry and deloy nielson the grave was dedicated by J arthur christensen monday morning of last week mrs thompson was at her home in gunnison in good health about noon she was vas stricken and was brought over to the salina hospital by mr Tb thompson ompson in the evening her baby was born bom and internal hemorrhages started the mother began sinking and died at 9 mrs thompson was the daughter of mr and mrs frank herbert and was born bom june 2 1902 her girlhood was spent in salina she attended the schools here and graduated from high school with high honors after which she entered the services of the salina telephone co where she was chief operator and assistant manager for several years on july 31 1924 she was married to alvornia J thompson at manti they made their home in gunnison mrs thompson is survived by her husband two small sons herbert four and duane twenty months her parents mr and mrs frank H her er bert two sisters fay and anna and two brothers G F herbert of los angeles and woodrow of salina local and personal miss bliss carol webb was hostess at a party friday afternoon at the home of mr and mrs june webb fin in honor of her tenth birthday anniversary niver sary the guests enjoyed outdoor adoor games until 6 when a sumptuous dinner was served the color scheme on the table was pink and white miss bernell colby left friday for the B Y U where she will specialize in home economics and niana management gement mr and mrs joseph wilson mrs robinson miss bliss thressa robinson and bryant robinson all of los angeles stopped at the andrew wilson home tuesday en route to their homes they had been visiting friends and relatives in salt lake city mr and mrs june webb and son harold motored to annabella sunday to spend the day miss bliss indra freece left saturday for parkville Par kville missouri to resume her studies at park college mr and mrs E C wright and mr and mrs june webb were guests of mr and mrs john dastrup of sigurd at a melon bust friday evening friday evening the junior high school students with their teachers miss effie robinson miss bliss edna domgaard lewis sorensen and bert thompson went on a wienie roast out to accompanied him to milford where thad entrained for the coast thad has spent the summer in salina with his parents mrs lovell crane mrs bill caf gates s and misses emma crane shirley wright ardys burr and daphne hansen enjoyed one of the first melon busts of the season wednesday afternoon mor morse burr and marion jorgensen left recently on a three weeks trip to points east they intend to purchase
