Show AURORA SCHOOL illness miss String liam the first and second grade teacher was taken ill monday february 11 she was absent from school tuesday but is now back to school again junior red cross work the work of the junior red cross is scattered in all parts of the united states many think that the people you see asking other people for money or things are begging but they are not these great men and women have done everything in their power to help the soldiers of the world war or any other war many soldiers would have perished if the junior red cross and other organizations had not done what they did the aurora seventh and eighth grades and the rest of the school have recently decided to join the junior red cross they will furnish us with badges and certificates we hope we can improve the work of the junior red cross by joining and I 1 am sure we will do all we can we are in hopes that the work will be very successful the epidemic the terrible disease scarlet fever is scattering in the town of aurora many of the pupils have been stay ing out of school with it which makes the classes very small the quarantine committee of aurora dr merrill wilford jensen and john stewart examined the pupils of our school for scarlet fever wednesday morning our challenge the seventh and eighth grades are competing with the fifth and sixth on punctuality the pupils got so they care if they were late we thought this would be a good way to get them here on time it is is proving successful we had as many late since accepting the challenge |
