Show CAR urt TOFT T DIES DIE REB FOH former county commissioner of sevier county dies in local hospital carl tuft of monroe 53 years of age who has represented the southern part of sevier county on the board of our county commission for a four and a two year term passed away at the richfield hospital sunday night after an operation for appendicitis itis not only his home town but the entire county has lost in call cail tuft one of the most active men of the county a man of upright and fearless honesty mr tuft has been ill only a few days when the operation was performed the physicians noticed that the appendix was in very bad condition and the case was further complicated by gall troubles everything that medical art could do was done by the attending physicians but the grim reaper called the patient away sunday night carl tuft came first to the front in county affairs when lie he was elected county commissioner in novem 1 ber er 1923 for a four year term and in in 1927 he be was reelected for the two year term in addition to totham that he I 1 served as councilman of monroe city three different times the last time tim e j when elected for the two year term in in 1922 his main occupations were i farming and sheep raising and at the time of his death he was president of ithe the monroe irrigation company surviving are the widow lydia nilsson tuft fout four sons lynn leonard art dean and max and one daughter mrs newell Alag magleby leby three 3 grandchildren rand children the parents mr and mis hans tuft two brothers H E tuft of monroe monroe and roy tuft of gunnis ii and one sister mrs hazel jensen of myton funeral services were held wednesday afternoon in monroe and an exhaustive report of the services will be given in the next issue of our paper I 1 the county commissioners of sevier county assembled in regular meeting 1 monday adopted the following resolutions of respect whereas divine providence in infinite finite wisdom has seen fit to call carl tuft in the prime of his life to his eternal reward and whereas carl tuft was for six years a county commissioner for sevier county and as such officer diligent in the afie discharge of his duties honest conscientious and always laboring to give the best service he possessed to the people whom he served ard and whereas we ive shall miss his congenial spirit his attendance to i details of his position his wise counsel and his friendship A NOW therefore be it resolved ithac talat these resolutions be up i j on the records of the county com missioners ners of sevier county a copy presented to the family and a further copy given to the press for publication li j signed MORONI JENSEN I 1 chairman D G BURGESS i commissioner I 1 G A STAPLES LESt i commissioner i |
