hospital medical art and c careful attendance brought about so much I 1 1 relief that the patient was longing for his beloved richfield and at christmas time physicians permitted his removal to our city now his death monday morning will ii ill leave vacant a seat scat among the family and at the family table and also the office of district attorney he passed away just one day before he was to qualify for the office A good and upright man a faithful husband a beloved father and a reliable friend was summoned to his last reward parley Alag magleby leby was born bom december 1872 at milton morgan county utah and lied died december 1928 his parents were hans 0 and eliza magleby Alag leby they moved to monroe sevier county utah in 1875 mr magleby was educated in the common schools of monroe and later attended the agricultural college ego for two tuo years and the brigham young academy at provo for two years during his entire life he has been a member of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints in 1897 he was called as a missionary to the state of california where he labored for twenty six months during the i greater part of this time he be was clerk of the california mission since I 1 I 1 his return he has ben been president of I 1 the Y AT al I 1 A of sevier stake a member of the high council a teacher in the sunday school and other organizations of the church ile he also served as a school teacher for a number of years in the towns of joseph and elsinore in sevier county during his earlier life he received a liberal and careful training in agriculture and correspondence course with the lincoln jefferson law department in april 1912 he was admitted to the practice of law in the state of utah and since that time has been actively engaged in his profession at richfield utah he has represented dented many important financial in institutions and has been the legal adviser for most of the municipalities of sevier county in 1918 he was nominated for county attorney on the republican ticket and in 1928 I 1 less than two months prior to his d death was elected district attorney for the sixth judicial district during his public career mr air magleby blag leby has been a consistent consi stant republican in politics and acted as chairman of the party in sevier county for a number of years for eight years he was director and secretary of the sevier county fair association and was largely responsible 1 for the development of the present county fair gi grounds during the world war he was secretary of the council of defense in S sewer evier county in the year 1923 he be was elected mayor of richfield and served for a period of two years in 1902 mr magleby married elizabeth elizabcth eliza beth maiben of provo and as al a result of kentucky impressive funeral services were held in the second ward warda chapel thursday afternoon sacred music was played by mrs airs anna callaway at the piano and miss maxine erickson violinist as the mourners entered the chapel bishop W A presided A mixed quartet composed of monroe people s sang a n the opening number president jas a M peterson offered the invocation A vocal solo by thos ransom of monroe accompanied at the piano by mrs woodruff magleby followed and other musical selections during the services were a vocal duet by mrs florence anderson and robert poole accompanied by mrs airs anna callaway a vocal solo by mrs airs jas la M 11 peterson and a selection by a ladies quartet with violin and piano accompaniment solutions resolutions R e of respect from the sevier county bar association were read by ferdinand erickson and speakers during the services were john 1 L sevy jr heber swindle of monroe A J fillmore and superintendent A J ashman bishop made a few closing remarks the benediction was pronounced by president john christensen the attendance at the funeral was unusually large and many beautiful flowers gave expression to the esteem t in in which parley magleby was held by his many friends interment was in the city cemetery Patri patriarch arell william A warnock of monroe dedicated the grave reed john joseph milton newell and harold magleby of
