Show Larcy largest est celebration ever TT r 3 a ara 1 1 3 aj held in in richfield C lity ity is as assured assured for july fourth various committees assembled in iffe meeting eting tuesday night report everything in readiness the committees for the fourth of july celebration held a i meeting tuesday evening chairman W ii B pace reab presiding ng and reported everything in readiness e for one of the biggest cele bration bra tiong 4 that was ever put over in our city A general outline of the events of the day is as follow a firing of salute hoisting of th tha c colors 0 lors and reveille and se serenade remade b the band at 7 in the morning the parade for which many floats are being prepared pr will assemble west aest of the sh school III building at 9 in the morning and start promptly at 30 going east on first N north orth to main street then south on main to third south from there north to second north and then back to the armory mor y in front of which tile the patriotic meeting will vill commence at 1030 sharp in the parade miss rula ence by popular r vote will ic ie present the goddess of liberty and miss mala foul son was the peoples choice for utah joseph hansen will act as marshal of if the day mayor F G martines will be master of ceremonies at the ino meeting eting the program ram of the patriotic meeting xv will ill be opened with a selection by the band and chaplain F M K ogden will offer the invocation A boys chorus will follow prayer and wane Clui stensen will read the declaration of independence after which mrs M L A poulson will render a patriotic solo the oration will be delivered by kenneth isbell and after a selection by the hand band miss aliss vilda jessen will give a reading this will vill be followed by a ladies chorus chaplain ogden will offer the benediction and then the meeting will disband while ille the band is playing a closing march while the patriotic meeting is in session the kiddies will enjoy a moving picture show in the cinema and the significance of the day will be explained to them in a program especially outlined for the young folk at 2 p m sports will be conducted on the city square and among the numbers on the program will ba a 25 yard ard dash for boys G 6 ani and 7 years year one for boys of 3 and years one for boas boi of 10 and and d 11 years a 50 yard dash for boys of 12 and 13 years and one for t or boys of 14 and 15 years yean a 75 yard dash for boys of ag and 17 years of age the girls races r ices will iq be 25 yards for girls 6 and 7 years of age 25 yards for girls 8 and 9 years 25 yards for girls 10 and 11 years I 1 50 yards for 12 and 13 years and 50 yards for 14 and 15 years the childrens races will be followed by a 50 yard dash for men of 50 years and older a 25 yard egg race tor for ladies a 50 baid fat amens race a 25 yard boys sack race a yard race free for all and finally a pie eating contest another feature will be a kiddies biko bike race at 3 a free childrens dance will be held at the anona and light refreshments will be served to the kiddies and their mothers A number of young ladies will be present to arrange e a and n d assist in tile the dances at 4 the richfield baseball team will cross bats with the elsinore team at the ball park at 6 water sports will be conducted at the city natatorium at a band concert will be given and after the concert the assembled crowd will vall move on to crimson n crest to admire the fireworks which w this time will be of special splendor after the fireworks a dance will be held and permission has been div given e n to dance until late hours in case of inclement weather the patriotic meeting and the dance in the evening will be held indoors |
