Show ETH SUMMONS JOBS old elsinore resident died in hospital of sterling canada reprinted from fram tile the lethbridge daily herald jonas ostlund of stirling father of H ostlund K C barrister of this city passed away at a local hospital at 1255 a m on thursday april 8 after a lingering illness mr ostlund was is bom in the northern part of sweden 76 years ago on the of march last he emigrated to america when a settling in albert lee minn there lie he lived for several years and there he married his wife bertha andstrom And strum ostlund shortly after his marriage he moved to the state of utah arriving in salt lake city in 1876 where he remained for a short time when lie he moved to sevier county utah settling in the town of elsinore where lie he lived until the spring of 1903 he emigrated to southern alberta Al beita settling in the village of stirling while in utah mr ostlund was e engaged n g in farming and the mercantile business most of his time there were born bom to mr aid mrs ostlund while there nine children five of whom survive all came to southern alberta to live since coming here tair mr ostlund has engaged in agriculture until a few years ago when he retired from active farm life up to three months ago he was in perfect health having never been attended by a doctor in his hi life to that period for the past ten weeks he has been bedfast having suffered a stroke at the time of his death he was slightly over 76 years of age he is survived by the folloN following ving sons and daughter his wife having pre deceased him in 1915 albin ostlund formerly of wrentham brentham Wren tham but now of duluth minn H ostlund K C barrister lethbridge daniel ostlund formerly of stirling but now of ukon idaho and mrs alanzo nielson of lof stirling the remains will be forwarded to stirling for burial and funeral services will be held there at two sunday afternoon next in religion mr air ostlund was vas a lat ter day saint and in politics he was a liberal Lib pral he has been an active and exemplary citizen both in sweden the united states and canada and has lived a useful life in tile communities in which lie has resided |
