| Show karl horne home Is happy in tile the mission field from a long iong and very interesting letter written to the reaper editor edito r by karl al horne home laboi labeling ing in california on a mission for the church we quote the fol following lowin 9 few paz passages sages from time to time it has been my desire d to extend to you and to the reaper staff in general in my y personal appreciation regarding the reaper never in the history of my life have I 1 enjoyed reading of home and sui rounding conditions with events inter ceding as I 1 have this little publication it seems as though I 1 am situated in the heart of richfield each time the wings of the paper are spread before me its contents are of the highest type possible and its intrinsic value regarding news items of importance is of a very commendable nature without doubt all readers will bear with me when commenting to this effect upon my arrival liere here I 1 was assigned to the san francisco conference where every minute of the work was enjoyed while there it was vas possible to call an a number of our former richfield people and learned that they were all doing very well there is indeed a wonderful feeling of friendship f 1 immediately follows the hand I 1 shake between told old acquaintances who at one time were in our midst A month ago I 1 was to the los angeles conference for the purpose of going through the mission as a traveling missionary to observe what was being done in auxiliary liard work so many places of interest interra and notoriety were visited that it is impossible to mention them all without a doubt california is a great and wonderful country at certain times and seasons but considerably less than superior to fo utah I 1 have had numerous conversations with some mome of the greatest business men in this state and their opinions are uch such that in their estimation utah is the leading state of the union comparatively ively speaking with her natural resources and beauty unequaled unequal cd the above statements seem self evident it is gratifying to report the great progress being made in this mission people are casting off their old prejudices and as a matter of fact the eyes of the world are upon the mormon people so that ideals for the nation are being taken from the standards that are upheld by the L D S utah is well known because of its broad road minded people and because of its applicable methods of educating tile the young men and women to show just what is being done clone in this part of the church in the direction of young people the los An angeles kreles ma M II 11 I 1 A is preparing an all activity which will avill be one of the greatest events in tile the history ahlston of our church they are arc contemplating on going to salt lake city for the annual june convention purposely to compete with tile the otlie other stakes ta lel there re will be a party consisting I 1 of approximately two hundred and |
