| Show CLUN SCHOOL CONTEST YIELDS GOOD james H wallis of public health association conducts scoring in sevier district schools the schools of the county have been visited this week by james H wallis executive secretary of the utah public health association who is the judge in the clean school contest which commenced last october mr wallis is now making his final inspection and expects to have his fin clings completed so as to announce the winners vin ners on sevier day much bluch interest has been taken in this contest and the work which lias has been done on school buildings school grounds and school equipment by the pupils and teachers has been remarkable and will exceed in value several times over the prizes which have been provided for by the board of education above all this however is the splendid work which the contest has developed in the health education of the pupils A code of daily health habits has been rigidly observed absei ved by the students as outlined by the modern modem health crusade which work has been under the personal supervision of miss bliss elva jex the school nurse i mr wallis has made ten minute talks to the pupils in each school room inspected stressing the value of early sleep the importance of clean teeth drinking plenty of water personal hygiene and the value of milk and cooked cereals his inspection covers janitor work fire protection ventilation heating proper seat adjustment water supply cleanliness of grounds care of furniture books and other supplies and playground equipment mr wallis will return to salt lake city saturday Satu iday morning having spent the entire week making the survey the work of the utah public health association is made possible by the funds secured from the sale of christmas seals the services of miss bliss jex the school nurse has been partly financed by this association as also the present clean schol contest and the showing of health films and health talks which come to the county each year |
