Show airi NAMES OF NEW HEALTH 0 and be E 0 H howard oward first president ot of the utah public health association and head of the organization tor for eight years resigned at the annual meeting of the board of directors held at the tha capitol thursday october ath george D keyser keyer president of the A keyser company and manager 04 01 the utah paper 13 box ox c company 0 m was elected to succeed mr howard mr keyser is a former member of the city commission in presenting the resignation of 0 mr howard james H wallis executive secretary of the association said that the increasing demands on the bankers ban kerf time were such that he felt it an injustice to the tion as well cis as to himself to continue as president but that he was nevertheless reluctant to give up his I 1 duties on motion of dr I 1 E G gowans chef following resolution was adopted resolved that we reluctantly ac capt the resignation of E 0 howard as president of the utah public health association although realizing the heavy demands on his time la business and financial circles have hava compelled him to come to this conclusion cl we appreciate the eight years of service he has given to this organization as its first and only president and that to his wise counsel and experienced guidance is due in large measure the splendid results which have been accomplished in controlling tuberculosis in this state by the educational clinical and demonstrative programs of the utah public health association therefore be it resolved that this body of directors in annual meeting assembled express their sincere appreciation or of the services of mr fr howard howarda and assure him that the good work he has commenced for protecting the general public health of this state shall go on with undiminished energy be lit it further resolved that the excellent address of our retiring president delivered at the recent annual convention of the utah public health ass oblation entitled our accomplishments ments bo be printed for the use of the directors and for the information of those buying christmas seals that they may know how well their contributions have been invested resolved that these resolutions be spread at length on the records of the association and a copy be forwarded to mr air howard the right rev joseph S glass of the catholic church and president heber J grant of the L D S church were elected honorary vice presidents of the association governor charles R I 1 mab e y and dr john A widtsoe were named regular vice presidents mrs alm all C howe howa ft as reelected secretary E A bering treasurer and dr H G merrill of provo sasi stant secretary treasurer dr C N jensen el fairman of the committee appointed to select a stats state cli chairman airman tor for the christmas christinas seal sale reported that the committee had unanimously agreed on dr john A widtsoe soe and that the latter had bad promised to give its his services the directors voted to have dr widtsoe act as state chairman george albert smith was elected a director to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of dr C A broaddus who has moved out of the state the meeting was well attended dr hebe J sears of the university of utah was chairman |
