| Show ff 1191 timi ING IN CITY A leade leaders rs training course to be held in richfield in the near future scout executive W B hawkins of bryce canyon council returned monday from sanpete county where he conducted scout leaders training courses in fairview wednesday fountain green thursday mt alt pleasant friday and moroni saturday in spite of the extremely cold weather and the prevailing holiday spirit the attendance at the courses was very good averaging about 30 each day A unique feature of the course given in mt pleasant was a camp craft program held in open air at a temperature pera ture of nine degrees below zero I 1 most impressive impre sive was the course in moroni there tenderfoot ivan cook was awarded a letter of commendation from the national court of honor for bravery in rescuing at the risk of his own life scout ralph blackham from a whirlpool whirl pool in a local stream the scout master and troop leaders who attended the courses expressed their appreciation of the benefit doii ed from the course the new ideas they had received in handling troops and fhe he new material for work in the troops in fact the people were so deeply deegin impressed by the excellence of the that snow college asked mr hawkins for the privilege of using the course as a major program during the leadership week at the college in january plans are no now w under way to conduct a scout leader training co course urse in richfield in the near future |
