| Show successful ARMISTICE DAY celebration both pro ram am in afternoon and dance in evening well attended armistice Ami stice day was very fittingly celebrated in our city with afi an elaborate program at the high school in the afternoon and a carnival dance in tile the anona anna at night both events of the observance were most successful the program drew a very large audience and the dance was N as no doubt the best of the season and a perfect success socially and financially the musical part of the af pf program was furnished by mrs L A poulson iho ho gave a vocal solo with that tine fine artistry this lady is known for a cello solo played delightfully by mrs W 11 nelson and some selections tiong by terrys band and it is enough said when we state that the band was at its best greatly enjoyed was a reading by talented mrs J milton olson the speakers of the day were D C forsey who gave the soldiers address address and J ill peterson who made a citizens address mr forsey was wag with the A E F over there and related of the experiences hardships and successes of the boys con concluding his interesting talk with some remarks about the unsatisfactory way of following up the great ideals tor for which the united states entered the war nir mr petersons sas well thought out and dwell well delivered speech had tor for the underlying idea the wonderful heart touching theme no more wars As to the dance we already stated that is was a decided success jn in every i respect |
